Back to Your Roots.....

Please don't pick the daisys....

"Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person Is essential to your own."

So, you are walking across a lovely summer meadow and you spot a beautiful flower the like of which you have seen before.
You are entranced by it. Captivated by it. Standing there in its presence and absorbing its wonder is almost a transcendent moment in your life.
Its almost like a moment of pure love. The question is, when you feel love do you: Do you pick it so you can possess it to keep for yourself - even though ultimately you know that will kill it?

Do you appreciate it where it is and just go on your way, leaving it where it is to continue on with its own true nature? Tough one, eh?

I am sure you can see where I am going with this. When we 'LOVE' someone, we have choices which are very similar to this scenario.
Some people mistake 'love' for 'want and need’. They have to 'own' the object of their love like they are a possession - or a flower to be picked on the path.

Some people understand the word 'Love' in a different way and this understanding guides their actions. Often this wisdom comes from experience of having picked flowers before - or having been picked and having wilted and died.

The embrace of love held too tightly can kill the object of love.

My thought is: If you love someone, let them Grow. :-)

"Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, Often hot and fierce, But still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable." - Bruce Lee, in a personal letter to his beloved wife Linda.
